Send documents and small items with a traveler

A certificate, a signed paper, a set of keys: small things someone needs in another country. Post a request on YourPoste and a real traveler already making the trip can offer to carry it. You pay in the app, and the money is held until you confirm delivery with your delivery code.

What counts as documents and small items

Things that fit in an envelope or a small pouch, for example:

Papers and letters
Certificates, diplomas and attestations
Signed forms and contracts
Keys
Small personal items

These are general examples, not a list of what is allowed. Each traveler decides what they accept.

How it works, step by step

  1. Post your request

Choose to send, say exactly what it is, where it leaves from, where it goes, by when, and the reward you offer. Posting is free.

  2. Real travelers can make you an offer

Travelers on the route can see your request and send offers. Compare profiles, reviews and ID-verified badges, and chat in the app before you decide.

  3. You pay, and the money is held

After accepting an offer you pay by card in the app: the reward plus a 10% service fee. The money is held, not sent to the traveler.

  4. Hand over the envelope

Agree on the place and the day with the traveler in the app chat. Phone numbers are shared only once the deal is paid. The traveler may ask to see what is in the envelope before taking it.

  5. Confirm with your delivery code

Once the envelope has been received, give your delivery code. The traveler is paid once the code is entered.

Practical advice

  • Use a sturdy envelope and write the recipient’s name on it. Seal it once the traveler has seen what is inside, if they ask to.
  • Describe exactly what is inside in your request, for example “one diploma in a large envelope” or “two house keys”, and add a photo. An honest description lets travelers decide.
  • Original or copy: that is your choice, and your risk. When a copy or a certified copy is enough for the person who needs it, send that instead of the original.
  • Keep a scan or a photo of every page you send.
  • Give your delivery code only when the envelope has been received.

What the traveler decides

  • Travelers choose what they accept, and they can refuse any request.
  • A traveler answers at the border for what they carry, so expect them to want to see what is in the envelope. Do not send anything you would not want a traveler to see.
  • They must follow the customs rules and the law of both countries, and the rules of their transport company.

If something is lost or damaged

YourPoste connects you with a traveler. It does not carry, inspect or insure what you send and, under the Terms, it is not liable, to the extent the law allows, for the loss, damage, delay or confiscation of an item.

What the app does: your payment stays held until you confirm delivery with your code. If a delivery fails or is disputed, the YourPoste team reviews the case and decides the refund based on the evidence from both sides.

A refund concerns what you paid in the app. It does not replace a document: send an original only if you accept that risk.

What is not accepted

The Terms list what may not be sent. For envelopes and small items, that includes:

  • Counterfeit goods and forged documents
  • Currency or bearer instruments in amounts exceeding legal declaration thresholds
  • Stolen property

This is not the full list: prohibited items, and restricted items that need a permit or a declaration, are set out in the Terms. Checking that something may legally be sent and carried is your responsibility.

Questions

Can I send an original document?

Yes, and it is your choice and your risk. YourPoste does not insure items. When a copy or a certified copy is enough, send that instead.

Is my envelope insured?

No. YourPoste does not insure what you send. Your payment stays held until you confirm delivery with your code and, if a delivery fails or is disputed, the YourPoste team reviews the case and decides the refund based on the evidence from both sides.

Can the traveler look inside the envelope?

A traveler may ask to see what they carry before accepting it, and can refuse. Describe the contents honestly in your request so they can decide.

What does it cost?

The reward you choose plus a 10% YourPoste service fee on that reward. Posting is free, and the app shows the exact total before you pay.

How long does it take?

It depends on the travel date of the traveler who accepts. Say in your request when you need it by, and agree on the day with the traveler in the chat.

What if no traveler makes an offer?

An offer depends on a traveler making that trip. Posting is free and nothing is charged until you accept an offer. A clear description and a realistic date help travelers decide.
