You can delete your YourPoste account at any time and free of charge, in the app or on the website. This page explains how to do it, what is deleted and what we keep.
The steps are the same in the iPhone app, in the Android app and on yourposte.com. You need to be signed in.
The account is deleted straight away and cannot be restored. You are signed out and taken back to the home page.
An account cannot be deleted while one of its deals is still in progress, whether you are the sender, the buyer or the traveler. A deal is in progress until it is completed, cancelled or closed. If you try, the app shows a message with the number of deals still open.
Why: another person is counting on that deal, and its payment may be held until delivery. Finish the deal or cancel it from its page, then delete your account.
Write to contact@yourposte.com from the email address of your account, with the subject “[GDPR] Delete my account”.
In your message, give us:
We may ask you to confirm that the account is yours before we delete it. The request is free of charge. We answer within one month, as set out in section 9 of our Privacy Policy.
When you delete your account, this is removed from our database:
At the same moment, your active requests and trips stop being listed, and offers still waiting for an answer are closed.
These records stay in our database, but they are no longer attached to an account: the link to you is removed.
What you wrote in them stays as you wrote it, for example the description of a request or the text of a message. If it contains personal details you want removed, write to us (see below).
We keep them because a deal, its payment and its messages also concern the other person, because reviews keep ratings reliable, and because records of deals and payments have to be kept for legal and tax reasons. The reasons and the retention periods are set out in sections 6 and 10 of our Privacy Policy.
Deleting your account does not remove your messages from the conversations of the people you wrote to. They still see the conversation; your messages are no longer attached to an account.
The photos you sent in chats are deleted.
We keep one short record for each deleted account. It holds no name, no email address, no phone number, no postal address and no document.
It contains: the former internal identifier of the account (a random string of characters), the date the account was created and the date it was deleted, the country of residence and the language set on the account, its role, which verifications had been completed, the number of trips, requests, offers and reviews with the average rating, whether the account had ever posted, received an offer or completed a transaction, the number of days since the account was last active, and the reason you gave when deleting, with your comment if you wrote one.
We use it for our own statistics on why accounts are deleted. Do not write personal details in the optional comment.
The retention periods are listed in section 6 of our Privacy Policy; section 10 describes account deletion.
This page describes what happens in the YourPoste database. The companies that process data on our behalf (for example for payments, emails and notifications) are listed in section 4 of the Privacy Policy.
You can ask for a copy of your data before you delete your account, or ask us to remove personal details that remain in the records we keep. Your rights are described in section 9 of our Privacy Policy.
Write to contact@yourposte.com with “[GDPR]” at the start of the subject, from the email address of your account. If the account is already deleted, tell us which email address it used.
